Amsoil FTW, my entire car runs Amsoil (engine, transmission, differential, brakes).

Same here well not brakes anyway. But as for the rest Amsoil all the way. I will most likely go Amsoil in the brakes when I have to replace the pads and repaint my calipers. Just do it all at once.

i use amsoil in my 6 speed....
its like a new tranny, very very smooth now
my car will never see another brand of oil excpet amsoil.
once i went amsoil, i knew i would never use anything else.

i like the fact i change my oil at 3000 miles and it looks just the same as it did when i poured it in.

What I want to know is if anybody has ever had problems directly due to an amsoil product?

Considering putting it into the car, but I'm worried about using non-oem fluids.

Amsoil for life now. My Evo felt better after I put it in and will never see anything else other than Amsoil.

I'm going to do a fluid change soon and have a couple questions. Right now I'm planning on using amsoil for the tranny, transfer case, and differential (already running amsoil 0w-30 SSO in the engine). What exactly do I need and how much?

This is what I think I need. I just want to check before buying:
Transmission - 5 quarts of MTG
Transfer - .6 quarts of SVG severe gear lube
Differential - 2.7 quarts of SVG severe gear lube

Thanks!
-Brian

^^^
You should only need 3 qts of the transmission and a qt each for the transfer and diff (though you will not use it all).

I got 3 qts for the trans and it was enough to fill it. I got 5 qts for the engine.

the only fluid i would keep oem would be transfer case
i hear from a couple shops that after people change it, it causes the tc to go out...

not sure if theres any truth to that, but i have heard it from more then one shop

IIRC, boostedwrx may be the only person I've heard of who doesn't like it. Perhaps his 6-speed unit was shimmed a little different from the factory than mine was?

Oil Doc was wondering if the SynTorq was GL-4. I took a look at the lable on the drum last night, and it is (I thought it was, I just couldn't remember off-hand).
LOL I was waiting for you to post!

I can tell you this I have been using Amsoil in my Evo 3 gearbox since 1996 and my Evo 6 as well since 2000 and I tell you now that there is absolutely no better shifting oil than that till today. Just can't find any other oil that would not grind the synchros when its hot. Absolutely the best!

DO NOT use any additives with AMSOIL Products...

Hundreds of EVO owners on this Forum and no problems.. I know that for fact.. It would be all over the boards if there was... Only ones you will hear from are the one's that never used it and perpetuate Myth's

OEM Fluids go out for bid every few years... So my question is. Who is making the fluids... This year... Don't get caught in thos Old Wive's Tales and Myth's.. AMSOIL Created the Synthetic Automotive market back in 1972 with the first API rated Engine oil and also the First to manufacture Automotive Synthetic Gear Lubes and Automatic Transmission Fluid... IMITATION is the Sincerest Form of Flattery..

3 qts of MTG for the tranny
2 qts of SVG will do both the TC and Diff
5 qts of Engine oil
1 EAO Series Oil Filter.. Not a better filter on the market.
1 g2039 Pump for the Driveline fluids... Screws right on our Wide-Mouth bottles

No truth at all as far as using AMSOIL

AMSOIL MTF meets those new requirements... If you have a DD and NEVER get on it, has NOT been modified to increase power and it is driven by Grandma (What EVO is) the MTF will be fine... For everyone else... MTG
