Someone help with clutch install please!

Hey guys, I've been working on replacing my clutch now for three days, and I just can not get the transfer case off. I have all the bolt's out, and it will come off just enough to where I can see the flywheel, but it won't come off. Would someone who has done their clutch please tell me why it won't come off

Thank's in advance

Have you extracted the shaft that connects the two diffs?....there is a threaded hole in the center of it ....it needs to be withdrawn with a slide hammer to the drivers side.....

No, I haven't. That's probably my problem. Another problem would be that I don't have a slide hammer

You also have to disconnect the throw out bearing first too.

well, I went out today got a slide hammer, came home, threaded a bolt in the hole put the slide hammer on it, and tried to pull it out... first slide, I strip the slide hammer... so tomorrow I have to go down and get a new slide hammer, fun fun

how do you disconnect the throwout bearing?
also how exactly do you use the slide hammer and where can you get one?
is the axle just one piece that can be pulled out of either end?
