Question Apexi Power-FC

Hi all,

After quite an extensive research on the internet about replacement ECU, I am finally settling on either an Apex PowerFC or an Autronic but I'm really keen on the PowerFC because of the commander unit.

Anybody out here uses one? If so, will the unit has preset for stage 1 mods (intake, downpipe, cat-delete, catback exhaust, re-circ bov) ? or do i have to re-program it extensively for these on the dynos ?

Any input on the PowerFC is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I like the Power FC and I have heard alot of good things from the RX7 guys over the years. But it's kinda limited. Apex gives you a base map to start with but you can really do any huge changes (ie for larger inj. scale). You would need to send it back to them for a upgrade. For a Stand alone I don't like this feature. Also Stand alone for a street car in my mind would not be ideal. The ECU has the ability to correct for out side temp and other conditions were a stand alone just runs what every program you have. I'm not sure how Autronic works. So I chose to run Xede from Vishnu.

It seems for most peoples needs this is more then enough. Plus Vishnu's base maps are really good IMHO.

Actually from what I understand the Power FC has full correction maps and runs all of the emmision, accessories, etc, just like the stock computer. Unlike the existing piggy back systems, stand alone ECU's like the power fc give you complete control and monitoring of all ECU functions and sensors.
While Apexi does not offer the computer interface for full correction map calibration, logging, and map upload/download capability, there is a seperate company that offers this option for the power fc.

I will have a complete test review of this system in the EVO VIII very soon.
