I think i have a problem

so ive noticed today that when my car idles it makes this weird rattle noise. it gets louder with how hard i press the gas pedal. does anyone know what it could be?

oh and it sounds like its coming from the driver side of the car by the wheel

yeah i got under and didnt see anything at all. just to be safe im changing all my fluids this weekend. what ive noticed though is it sounds like a scraping noise

could be your tranny? you'll know when you change your fluids...hopefully. because there isnt much over there that could be making a noise like that.

this is only when the car is in neutral? u could need ur clutch pedal adjusted?

as far as i can tell i can only hear it in neutral and at a stop, cause i cant hear much of anything when im driving

say it gets louder when you press the gas? dont press the gas! seriously though if you are sitting still with the can in neutral and you here a scraping sound does it go away when you push in the clutch ? if so its probably the throw out bearing makes kind of a ringringringring sound.just an idea.

I had that exact same noise at idle ... one day later I toasted a rod bearing and heat-seized my bottom end.

so i did notice it goes away when i push the clutch in so i think its the throw out bearing. is it bad to drive like this for an extended period of time? im more than likely going to get it fixed tomorrow. how much am i looking at cost wise?
