Whinning noise?

When I am down shifting, if I don't rev match (heel & toe) and just let the clutch out when I am slowing down, it sounds like either my trans or transfer case is whinning. That is the only time I hear it.

I have really never launched my car hard, or at all for that matter! I broke my VIII launching it so I decided not to with my IX.

I just changed all the drivetrain fluids a couple of months ago with Redline.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the death whine strikes again....

I had exactly the same complaint and it steadily got worse. Never launched my car, never raced it even once and the T-Case went out from daily use. :[ Ring and pinion in that thing just suck.

98% chance its the T-case.

Yes, still stock clutch.

When my ring and pinion went out on my VIII the symtoms were much different. Made noise on low speed turns only.

Redline in the Tcae may be your issue. HIGHLY recommended to use stock fluids in the Tcase and rear diff.

I know AMS recommends RedLine in the trans, which is ok, but the Tcase and diff too?
