A little Help?

I am in the market in buying a Evo 9 MR but I am not sure what the compression should be on the motor with stock setup. I tried doing research on here but everything I found was either people saying there numbers were low or blown. Any help from you guys would greatly be appreciated as I would love to join your community!!!! Also I hope this is the right section for this question if not please mods move.

By the way this one evo I was looking into buying I got him to bring to a mechanic, his reply is as follows.

I called you to let you know about the result of the compression test and it
was 118,118,120,118 ( PSI ) according to the mechanic, the car was hot probabely
made the reading low, but I really don't know about the average for the Evo's
compression. All I can tell you is that the car is in mint condition.

Personally I don't think so.

One compression tester might be different from another and if you are getting the SAME compression across the board there is either something wrong with your gauge or the procedure.

The fact that there is no/very little variance between the numbers would lead me to believe the numbers are fine.

If you need reassurance, do a wet test where you put a tablespoon of oil into cylinder via the spark plug hole and then try the compression test. If the compression results rise it's the rings. That doesn't necessarily rule out any leaks in the head/head gasket but I think it's very unlikely one would have numbers so consistent across the board and have a problem.
