Tranny Failure... Need Help!

Last night I was driving and took off from a stop light and got on it a little bit and my car made a *ping* sound. Then the car didnt move any further. It will go into all gears including reverse just fine. But when I let off the clutch in any gear the car goes nowhere. But it makes a winding noise. Each gear gets a little louder. (Going from 1st to 5th. Clutch? Mainshaft?

If you may have any info please let me know.

Thank You!

Sounds like when I exploded my clutch disc on my focus. Literally, the disc went to pieces.

Sounds like a failure - anyway you look at it. It has to come apart.

Good luck.
