Just off the top of my head, I remember Bryan posting that he was tuning the Green/10.5(unported, I think?) to hit 23-24# by 3300-3400 RPM with modified ECU boost control on 91 octane. This is a remarkable accomplishment.

As an aside, I am getting my Green/9.0 to hit 23# by 3200 RPM on 89 octane at 3500 ft. But, it should spool a bit better with more tweaking, including housing porting, EBC, dump and 22# of preload.

I think that for Auto-X and super tight circuits you may want to try the Red with the optional 9.8(fully ported) housing instead of the standard 10.5. At least, I am going to order mine in this configuration.

For reference, you may want to read through Nils´ thread that deals with his impressions of the Red for road racing.

Were you "creeping" to 35 PSI, or was that your target boost level? Of course, it´s not really fair because you removed so much metal from your Red´s turbine housing that you should be penalized for being underweight.

This would be better suited for a 35R or 37R thread, not a Red or Green thread. This is about the $100 difference and keeps getting better.

We definitely don't have creep. I don't leave 'what happens happens' in the equation. We actually could have done a little more, but quit running the turbo after hitting the et record. There's more there. I've always been an advocate for 'throughput' from A to Z. Maximize velocity of air first, volume of air second.

Sparky, I was going to make a statue out of the shavings, but half of them stayed in my sox and reminded me of it for the next 4 weeks.

I wasn´t really implying creep in your particular case. I just wanted clarification, that´s all. Not a doubter, as your work, sacrifice, dedication and the resulting records speak for themselves

I was just amazed, I guess, by the level of boost that you were running that turbo at and the way that it held the boost flatline in the graph. Congratulations to Dave Buschur, Forced Performance, and Trent, as well as yourself.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I forgot to include kudos for Indy too!

Yea there is more room in this one too for sure. At one point it was 31.5 at 8k. With more still in it. About 85% duty cycle.

We basically stopped at 30psi as it was on a stock shortblock and unported head.

It's getting a ported head and 2.3L soon, will be interesting to see what it does.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with Steve 9sec9, it is much appreciated.

This also had the Indy V2 California Spec intake manifold, which I am sure helped as well.

razorlab, If anyone in California is going to find it's top, you'll be the one. Steve does a fantastic job of porting. As a matter of fact, I received a PM today and recommended him to do it. I'm not too sure that any of us have found the top of the FP-Red. Every time I thought that the limit was reached, we found more. I'm not too sure why, but it really likes the boost. The only downside is the RPM's of the wheel. It's like the old saying, "It was running it's best, right before it blew".

As Bryan stated, thank you 9sec9 for the help with my porting. It's greatly appreciated. As mentioned before, this is a stock head/block and on top of that stock valve springs with a lightly ported/coated stock exhaust manifold and just some drop in comp 280 cams. The fully prepped head/2.3L has me really excited to say the least.
