Replied. Waiting for the good news. One more thing, I don't drive the car in the rain.

mdsevo06 - i dont think it is a loose knock sensor althought it could be. I check it with my hand because thats all i could get into that tight spot and it wasnt loose to the touch.

Sean - have you done a leak down test to see the possibility of a bent valve or bad ring?

Is the car using any oil? Have you ever taken the exhaust manifold, turbo, or O2 housing off the car? Do the plugs have over 5000 miles on them? Did you replace your old MAF sensor with a brand new factory unit? When the studs were done, was the head gasket replaced? Check that the upper O2 sensor is threaded tightly into the bung.

the car uses a little bit of oil but no more then what ive seen from other evo owners. The turbo was taken off for the o2 housing install but the problem was before this and i have confidence that sean reinstalled it correctly.
The plugs have probably 5000 miles on them since i have changed them but the are iridium so that should have some more life and they seem clean.
I replaced the old maf with a used one from the forum and that fixed the problem i was having. I then switch back to my original maf and i still wasnt having my old boost cut problem and my my load values seem on par to what they should be. They used to read about 315 and more they are back around 260ish.
When the studs were done the headgasket was not replaced but the problem was happening before the studs were done as well. This is one thing that has me thinking though. I raed another member on the board that had and intermittent knock and when he pulled the head there was a small crack in the head gasket that was spraying a small amount of coolant into the cylinder and it was just enough to show knock. I wouldnt know that short of pulling the head though.
And i assume the o2 sensor in threaded tightly since it was just taken out and put back in by sean.

I got the car back yesterday. Apparently my problem was that someone decided to leave an exacto knife right next to the knock sensor which was causing it to rattle and possibly set it off. I have to run out the rest of the race gas thats in the car now and put some regular gas in and see if it solves the problem. ill keep everyone update but thanks for all the help and thank you sean for you troubleshooting

Nasty gremlins with Exacto knives! Now, Sean should have more latitude to get agressive with the timing table.
