Question about stock IX MR clutch

So i'm almost at the point where everything comes together. I decided on a gt3076R turbo, and with the supporting mods I have, the tune should be somewhere around the 430whp range. Just wanted to know, my IX MR has almost 40k miles on it. Stock clutch grabs great and feels like it's got plenty left. Would it be alright for a few months as a daily driver holding 430whp, or will it slip right away?? Just don't want to get on the dyno and have problems...so anyone that has experience help me out. Thanks

You should be good if you don't launch it and shift at 7000 everyday.

You get strapped down to four rollers, and the tuner will go WOT in 3rd or 4th gear to measure your HP/TQ. He/she will also look at your power curve to make fine adjustments to the tune. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFM0zp8O0x4

My 3076R made 400ftlbs of torque with aggressive cams. I would say it would burn up your stock clutch real good if you plan on running that turbo. I went through my ACT HDSS in a year with three track days.

clutch

there is no way your factory clutch will hold up at those power levels.it just barely handles the stock output. do a little research and you will find tales of factory clutches going out at 1200 miles.completely stock cars with adults that have driven sticks all their lives and the clutches going out in 20k or less.it was designed as a fuse from the factory to go out before the driveline.if you are looking for the kind of hp you say plan on an aftermarket clutch as a priority then drive your car nice or plan on a transmission and transfer case upgrade.there are a few exceptions if you are willing to look for them but the majority of modded cars go down this same road.you might as well know what you are in for! good luck
