Balance shaft Removal

Has any one remove the stock balance shafts while the motor was still in the car on a stock bottom end?? I just did this Saturday and car runs great!!

The reason why we did this was at 12k on a 05 evo with extensive drag pass's and weekend fun, it worked the bolts out of the stock underdrive pulley and made a few bolts shear off! In which we replaced the underdrive pulley with a new stock one. At around 17k we had to lock tight the bolts in. In which all the vibrations from the stock underdrive pulley we think that it made the oil pump bearings fail! Then at 21k it started leaking oil from the oil pump housing! So this is the reason why we wanted to remove the balance shafts while we were this deep!

Any experts on balance shaft removals that would like to chime in and tell us what you think about removing the shafts on a stock bottom end???

have done a lot of times, but i dont remove it ,my machinist cut the counter weights of the oil pump shaft, just like AMS ones and go back to the engine to add support at oil pump gears at high rpm and pressure.
