Help Melted Spark Plugs

hey i guys i have a hue ignition problem and need all the help and opinions i can get. i have an AEM EMS, and a fully built Cossie head, with many other supporting mods. when we retuned my car we noticed that the spark plugs were bad so we replaced them with a step colder. later that night i was in fourth gear and it started misfiring badly. i took my car immediately in and the spark plugs were so hot it took us an hour to get them out so we wouldnt ruin the threads. heres the bad thing, 2 of the four tips were melted because it got so hot, we regapped them to 20 and went a step colder, i changed my boost from 25psi to 18psi and staying out of fourth gear on open throttle. what do u think could be causing the problem? Coil packs? spark plugs? relay wires? cold starter? alternator?

who tuned the car, and more importantly, how do you know it was tuned properly?

Sounds like it was running to lean. Check the wideband make sure the sensor is good.

CC temps were through the roof likely. Sounds like the tune to me. Running it way lean.

Why don't you post a picture of a melted plug.

Lets see if its has classic over heating signs like a blistered insulator.

Prolly running lean,

check the injector clips to make sure it's getting a good connection. other than that it is probably the tune.

you going to post a picture of a plug or not?

Its a lot easier to diagnose problems when you can see damage

Melted plugs are almost always because of a burned valve.

had a similar thing happen 4 days ago only WOT in 5th gear at like 140mph. Each plug had some damage but 1 worse than the others. Didnt have any symptoms till after i backed it back down tho. I have 2k on a forged bottom end and some decent bolt-ons. I also am running a AEM tuned at Carz performance in Denver. My air/fuel showed it was in a good range the whole pull so I'm wondering if its timing? For now I replaced the plugs 1 step colder and I'm sending my stock ECU to WORKS perf in california to have a flash done on it and mayb just run that.

i bet its your tune. i have a pretty much stock car just fp red stock head with 272 cams etc basics. the guy tuning the car put the wrong plugs in by accident and fried all 4 plugs. you gotta watch bc my ignition system couldnt handle it and the bottem end went kadoom! so def get your tune checked bro best of luck
