Tial Vs Garrett exhaust housings

Has anybody done any testing on these?

I recall David Buschur having one fitted at one stage, but cant find the results.

Trying to find out if the .82 Tial GT35R housing flows the same as the Garrett 4 bolt 3" outlet housing

Thanks

I believe the inlet volume is smaller, and that would become a choke point higher in the rev band. This could possibly be solved by a larger A/R housing. The way the housing is designed, spool should be better than an undivided housing, similar to a divided housing, and the weight savings would also be a plus. I think we need a back to back test between Garrett and Tial.

I think that AMS uses the Tial housing on their drag car and they have found some gains from it.I have it on my GT42R Evo 6.I'm going to the dyno (Mustang) in 2 weeks.i will post results!

I made 600whp @ 24psi on pump gas (Sunoco 94) on my DSM with old school parts, and a regular GT35r with TiAL .82 v-band housing.

Bumping the boost to 33psi, falling to 31psi, on VP Q16, made 721whp.

This is with old school parts, Forrester Intake Manifold, Forrester headwork, HKS 272 cams, DSM NT Throttle body, etc.

These numbers (at that boost level) are amazing. I can't help but to think the TiAL housing had a big effect.

Other then having a round cross section at the inlet, it is essentially the same as a standard GT35 (3" diffuser outlet) turbine housing?

Of course, with the added benefit of being a thin wall stainless steel casting and having V-band inlet/outlet...
