Help: Boost issues after clutch install

So after some long deliberation I decided to let somebody else do my clutch. I took it to a local race shop here in the NW and let them have at it. They promised that they had worked on many evos (ACD equipped and without).

I got an email while it was in service asking if it would be ok to fix up the MBC/diverter, secure the undertray a little better (metal fasteners), and heat wrap the DP. I said sure.

When I went down to pick it up I asked if they found anything else suspicious while doing the maintenance. He said that my turbo was making noise. Granted I run the stock turbo at 24.5PSI right now so I know it is going to go but it had made no noise before going into service.

So at first I heard a little squealing and then I went to climb a large hill in 5th gear and I could hear it no problem. The sound is similar to that of a balloon that has been inflated and then stretch the opening so it makes a squealing noise. I checked all the UICP fittings to make sure they were tight but haven't checked the lower connection of UICP or the J pipe fittings.

The service manager said that they did a smoke test and did not find any leaks. I have not heard of this before. Do they fire up the car while the intake is under vaccuum put smoke by all the intake fittings? Is this really an adequate test? The only way I have done it is by pressurizing the system to max boost and checking for leaks.

I guess my question is should I just bring it back to the service department and tell them to deal with it? Is this likely my turbo going out fresh after service or is it a boost leak? I have only been running high boost for less than a year at this point. The rest of the time it was all stock.
