clutch install
I disagree, if you take it somewhere then bring it somewhere that has done work on the Evolution before. That way you don't have to question the shops work. Its pretty irritating to have a customer breathing down your back while doing work....
There is generally more work involved to get the clutch in and out of an AWD vehicle vs. FWD/RWD.
CBRD is highly experienced and do great work, I don't think 750 is really out of line.

I do them for $400 + fluids usually. Done em on my back and on lifts. I'd recommend trying to do it yourself if you have tools and time. Nothing like getting a little dirty and trying something new. There are a few tricks probably posted on this board to make it go faster. Took me around 3 hours on my back in the cold start to finish.

If you do it yourself, do the research on what you should look for. I have done DSM clutches in the pass, but the thing that got me on this one was the pull style clutch. The TOB was not seated on the ring and I didn't realize that until I had everything back together. I was too lazy to do it again so I had it towed to a shop to be done. Ended up being $550.
I will do it by myself in the future and it will probably only take about 6-8 hours working at a medium pace.

For those who have done the install themselves, they know where I'm coming from when I say that $750 isn't out of line. With no prior auto experience, I would no way try this. I've worked on a ton of stuff in the past and nothing has been as advanced as the evo clutch swap.
That being said, I am just finishing mine up (29 hours later
). Car on jackstands with hand tools.

I had Dent Sport Garage (www.dentsport.com) install my exedy twin a week or two ago. I payed $650 (its only $550 for the 5-speed) and they finished the freakin thing in six hours, no joke! DSG FTW!
Just don't go and do like I did... clutch was slipping and I thought I could make the 4 hour drive to Boston from VT.... broke down 250 miles from DSG on the mass turnpike... $600 tow.... my CC hates me
