I installed a series 3 clutchmasters on my '69 amx (400hp). It has held up very well under difficult situations. I was going to install one on my Evo when the stock gave up the ghost. I'm curious how much the clutch set you back, both materials and labor to install?

I have the CM stage 3 and it grabs very good. But I still recommend the HKS twin disk. My friend has it and it holds power all the way through redline. He beat me by a half car and both of our cars are stock except for the clutch. GO HKS!

U can buy the hks at sp-engineering.com

Not to rain on your parade, but he may have just shifted better.

i'am actually a better driver than he does. He was still learning how to drive manually a month before he bought the evo..
I had raced him again yesterday, he was driving my car and i was driving his. and I beat him by 1 car. I think HKS clutch holds more power than the CM stage 3. both of our cars are stock.
The CM stage 3 is pretty smooth and not too grabby. i would still recommend HKS ALL THE WAY

OK guys 2 days and 400 plus mile on the New clutch(Clutchmaster stage3) Id like to give you someupdates.

The 1st time I started my car(this was a cold start btw)The 1st thing i notice. NO MORE FXXXKING Anoying noise that i been hearing every single morning...... Nice and quite just like my little old civic si. After car was all warm up, I Shift into 1st gear to pull out of the parking lot. press the clutch in, It feels 50% harder to press down then what im used to.But not so heavy that my wife cant press it or anything like that. There was no free play in the clutch at all.. Maybe.. like 5% tops. Clutch engage much much faster then stock.(i still have not remove the valve and, valve spring in the clutch release cylinder). Havnt had it removed just for now still i get used to the new clutch. I feel atm that the new clutch engage 3 times faster .

So really no need to remove them, shince this is a dialy driver.Im worryed that with it removed the shift will be to jurky. Even tho i drive freeway 90% of the time.At time them freeways turn into a deadstop going 2 mile in 1 hour will suck bad.So with the restricter on it still have somewhat of a perfectly smooth shift. Over all this is a great clutch. very quite engagement. and not allout race clutch.

I recommend this Clutch over the the HKS . My brother inlaw has the HKS on his EVO(haha he toasted his clutch at 4k).I say it fully his fault, 1st car he ever own with a clutch. We traded cars for a good 20 min drive.and i can tell that the HKS is way to jerky it feel just like the 4 puck i had on my 1st Gen Gsx. But anywayz... I wuold liek to hear some more Feedbacks from other EVO owner, who allso has install stage2 or 3 Clutch Master..

Oh.. Thanks Justin From Lancershop. Super quick delivery

I love my CM stage 3. I launched for the first time tonight and it was awesome. No clutch smell with not even a notice of slip. I know that the front ps tire broke loose for like 30 feet. It was a snap to launch too. I launched it at 5000. Blipped it up to 5k then let the clutch out and as I sensed it bite and saw the rpm flutter I even traded clutch and gas by mashing the gas and pulling completely off of the clutch. It was awesome.

Driviblility for me is a snap also. I feel that it has the same pedal pressure and just a little rough on normal take off driving, but once you learn the clutch it is really easy.
