Car Wont Start any suggestions

So i just turned out of my court yesterday and about a half a mile down the road my car blocks me out almost like my engine just froze up but it was still running. i tryed pressing the gas down to go and it didnt do anything the rpms went to 0 and the mph was slowly falling. so i pulled over and checked the oil and no oil was on the dip stick. i just changed my oil about 1500 to 2000 miles ago but i thought i had a small leak a while ago because oil was on the uicp and firewall. so today i am going to drain out the remaining oil if anything is left and change it to see if it does the trick. i was kind of thinking maybe water got inside the motor because it was raining pretty hard yesterday. any Help Would Be Appreciated

Thanks. j

Well, it sounds like you ran the engine dry of oil - not a good thing to do. Most likely you are looking at engine overhaul or replacement.

Did you get any oil idiot light on the dash. NO oil on the dipstick isn't a good thing. That could get expensive quick. If the engine won't turn over by hand, you're hosed. If it does run again with oil, you still may be hosed. I'd check everything you can if the car starts, and listed really good for any rod knock.

By the way, if water can get in your engine because it rained hard, there's something wrong with your engine.

Not sure if Im understanding entirely, but no, not in some cases. I.E. no hood vent, and open filter... If its pouring, that filter, depending on what kind/style may suck up some water..... Check ur oil drain plug, cap, dipstick tube, etc....

no, your wrong. it cant. if your motor serves as a pump, thn you sir have failed.

the turbo, is kinda hot..... like, hot enough to destroy/evaporate/sizzle any water short of submerge the entire engine and gettin james bond with it.

i would get a volt meter and d-bomb that sheez up. starting with th the driverside kick panel because we are known to have elictrical gremlins and the kick is what normally see's the begging of the harsh and savage presence:

search- electrical gremlins.

but seriusly good luck, i wish you the best of luck we need one more evo soldier on the streets fighting our nemesis the blueberry gobblins

so i thought something couldve shorted out so i checked all my fuses under hood and under steering column the engine control fuse in the hood was blown replaced it and it still wont start. there was no oil light coming on while i was driving. when i changed the oil yesterday, a total of about 2 - 2.5 quarts came out.
tryed starting it today after i noticed the blown fuse and sawpped it out and it didnt start but i noticed when i turned it to the on position it was normal but when i tryed turning it to start the car the fuel needle and hot cold temp on dash went all the way at the bottom. normally does not do this.

You mentioned rain. Remove the driver's side kick panel and look at the big white wiring connector. On some cars water comes in and corrodes this connector.

If you still had that much oil you should be okay engine wise. However, you need to get the oil leak fixed.

Get someone to help you and read the AMP's while trying to start the car. Probably blowing while attempting to start. Not sure what else. Where are you located? Maybe someone local could help you out.
