advice if i should buy an intercooler now..

i know many people have seen this question before but im getting these mods:invidia o2 housing, invidia downpipe, invidia test pipe, injen intake + upper and lower intercooler pipes, walbro 255 fuel pump, hallman MBC to about 22 psi and a tune most likely by ivey. if i stay with the stock IC will i be fine through the summer? I know the whole deal about heatsoaking an IC i asked iveytune if i should get one and he said it isnt really needed for the power im looking for. Some opinions would be really appreciated, Thanks.

whay are your intentions with you car? Track, Daily Driver, Drag, a little of all. If you track or drag your car then it would be a huge benfit, but if you just cruise the street then I would say no...

No harm in doing a FMIC now on your car. I wish I had done one sooner and gotten it before I did cams. I personally picked the Perrin, but my favorites are Perrin, ETS, and Nisei. From reading your mod list the ETS 3" thick should be good for you and its pretty cheap at ~$420 on sale right now. If you plan on maxing out the stock turbo go for the ETS 3.5" or Perrin. If you plan on upgrading turbos the ETS 4", Perrin, or Nisei would suit you nicely. The ETS and Perrin fit with zero trimming to the bumper/bumper support and the stock undertray. The Nisei fits with zero trimming to the bumper/bumper support but will require some trimming on the stock undertray. If you don't like any of these options you can always go for the more expensive Buschur or AMS units too which are proven to be very effective.

unless your getting a bigger turbo kit or road race often, your throwing away money and probably wont even get any horsepower gains from it. The bigger intercooler is simply an anti-knock component and can also keep intake temps down when constant rough driving(ie: rally/road course.

BUT if you plan to get a bigger turbo or road race in the future, it is a necessary supporting mod and dont settle for anything less than ETS or Buschur. 3.5" ftw
