Anyone got the HKS SSQ?

I'm probably going to buy the HKS SSQ bov, but I was wondering... to make the bov recirc, all I know is the recirc kit.. correct? What's the optional flange kit that you can buy? Same with the GReddy, if I want the GReddy to recric, what kit do I get?

No problems with bogging or stalling? That's all that i'm really afraid of. That and running too rich/losing some performance...

If you have any problems HKS sells a EIDS kit to correct anything.

The EIDS is an Electronic Idle Stabilizer. It allows you to VTA without any problems. If you want a fuel controller on your car you can just buy the HKS Super AFR. This unit controls fuel and has the EIDS built in (Kill 2 birds with 1 stone).

I belive the flange kit is the mounting flange that you would use if you wanted to mount the BOV to a hard pipe(ie: upper intercooler pipe).

The flange kit is not nessary if you buy the HKS SSQ for an Evo 7. That is the kit I use and it works fine. I also have the recirc kit but I took it off because I did not like the sound, the cars does stumble a bit, but I can live with it. Now all I need is the HKS S-AFR.

I have some experience with the HKS blowoff valve in recirc mode (not much yet), and it seems to work well from what I have seen. The sound is not obnoxious and the build quality is top notch.

You can get a different fin to eliminate that sound.

Yes, I just helped Josh here install his tonight. I've installed about 15 HKS BOVs on evos and not one problem recirculating. There a couple things you need to buy to make it work with the evo. First, you need to buy a 1 inch radiator hose (about 1 inch long too) because the recirc nozzle isnt wide enough for the hose clamp to fit around it in the dump hole on the turbo inlet pipe. Next, you need to buy about 4 inches of vacuum hose since HKS doesnt include the smaller hose (stock is too big) and they just include the big to small adapter.

I've got a bunch of recirc kits in stock and I sell the HKS BOV kit also that fits the evo. I include everything to make it fit on the evo (HKS valve with kit, recirc fitting, small vac hose, and the recirc expansion hose to make it fit snugly) all for $245 shipped.

Let me know if anyone needs this...

Rob
