what caused my motor to blow

so recently i have been figuring out that a company that had been purposely de-tuning my car to have it break down so i would spend more money was the main reason my car blew up. but here is the question i have and i need a lot of advice. i have the fp white turbo and a greddy pro-fecb boost controller.. my car kept over boosting till my 30psi gauge would spin a complete circle and fuel cut off,so i took it in and he adjusted the wastegate arm so that it would open properly however this caused my turbo to be fully spooled by 5100rpms.. so when i took it to another guy who actually works on evo's only, he adjusted everything again and retuned it on a stock ecu the boost controllers max setting till cut off was 40psi, we put it back down to 30psi, note that i am running 26psi right now, i did a second gear pull and before my foot hit the floor mat it hit 40psi and blew a rod out the front of my block... what would cause this to happen? is the boost controller bad? bad solenoid? not properly hooked up? i need to get some advice before i retune my car when i put in the motor a couple days

Yea i think my engine has the same problem, however i dint blow my motor. im on stock ecu and stock turbo setup. I am over boosting even when my controller is set at 19psi. i hit the throttle and i get a 19psi but at approximatly 5-6,000 rpm i over boost to 23psi. i think its my wastegate spring is shot. However you have an upgraded wastegate and this could not be your problem. Also im rele not deffinate if the wastegate is my problem, i am still int he diagnosis stage also... thought i might lend a suggestion

Are you running meth, e85, or race gas?

Sucks to hear about your car. If you mention this as if you are trying to prove it is their fault good luck with that. Voided or expired warranty -AND- significant previous mods? They probably won't cover anything. At least you are ok; what is the next step for you?

From your details it sounds like your boost controller was either not installed properly or it was faulty. I'm leaning more towards it not being installed correctly due to the fact that you guys had a cut off of 30psi; If your engine produced 40psi then it's obvious the boost controller was not getting any vacuum/boost feedback. Sorry to hear about your engine failure. Can you provide pictures of how your boost controller was set up?

seriously there is NO need for electronic boost controllers. theres such a waste of time unless you like to look at electronical devices in your car. John Shepard uses a hallman mbc set @ 55psi. If HE uses a manual boost controller, theres no reason for anyone to use anything else IMO.

even the BR dual stage controller is all you need if you run high boost with its low boost and high boost settings with the flip of a switch

thanks for all the feed back keep it coming, i am running 93 on my tune, but right now my car is in my buddies garage, it should have been fixed a week ago but he is gettin gmarried so he gets back the 15th, i bought a shortblock from a friend for like 1200 with only 15k on it, so i should have my car done soon, we are taking the boost controller out and re doing the entire setup, hopefully my new cosworth race head is intact cause that cost me alot of money haha but we will know the verdict soon, i will be in colorado skiing when he is working on it, but i will have him take pictures for me so i can post them.. i mean i hit 40 psi before i hit 3000rpms so theres a nice size hole a there about three holes in the front of the block

Isn't this EvoBZ's old car? He is the only one in town that I knew of that had a cosworth head.. Anyway, you are running far too much boost for pump fuel, whomever told you to turn up the boost like that clearly has no idea of what they are doing. Is KevinD fixing your car when he gets back from Costa Rica?

I think your boost gauge is faulty.

I had the same problem with the Greedy Profec. No matter how I hooked it up, I kept overboosting. I even swapped out solenoids and same thing. This is on an external wastegate too. IMHO, the profec is a pos. I tossed it out and I'm gonna try something else.

Even with the WGA disconnected with tightened spring load, 32psi is about all it does (16g though). Maybe the WG linkage was jamming or something to achieve that kind of pressure.
