Help me cobble together my exhaust...

Details:

Daily Driver 2006 EVO IX SE looking to keep things as quiet as possible with a 3in straight through exhaust. I plan to track the car a couple of times a year but generally on the street I drive like a sally except for the occasional backroad romp.

Catback:
Cobb

Downpipe:
Megan

Resonated Test Pipe:
Megan

O2 Housing:
Evopowermods 02 dump
http://evopowermods.com/shop/cart/in...index&cPath=65

My question is will these all work together with fittings and whatnot? My car is completely stock right now and I'm just getting started. I will keep the stock turbo, injectors, fuel pump and am considering a FMIC (will have to decide which O2 dump to get....) Are there any other gaskets or hangers I need? thx.

Looks good

I would keep the OE downpipe and cat for inspection time. All should work together and no parts should be needed if all new - they should have gaskets and use the rubber hangers from the factory pieces.

I was curious about the O2 Dump and track noise regulations...how do they measure these things at a roadtrack? Do they measure you at idle? Full throttle? during the event or in an inspection area?

That looks like a good list of mods.

For dB measurement, they generally measure as you pass a certain location and while you're at WOT. The dump is pretty loud ... some tracks might not like it. It would be best to find out what the restrictions are at your local track to make sure that you would be welcome.

Where does the dump exit? A fellow board member states:

"You bet they get that technical, its for your own safety. A basic dump is fine for drag racing, your only at WOT for a view seconds. Do that over and over on a road course, how long before you start smelling exhaust gas in the driver’s compartment?"

Thanks Jimmy, you're a peach....and ~extremely~ helpful I might add.

While I do spend a good amount of time reading threads on EVOM, it doesn't pay the bills, so I can't do it as much as I'd like but I did digest this thread and don't recall of any mention of dump exit:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-done-yet.html

As we as looked on http://evopowermods.com/ but no luck. Sorry my searching skills aren't on par with yours.

Thanks for the offer Andy, but I literally just laid down my hard earned cash for the setup (minus the O2 dump) I mentioned above. But thank you again.

That should be a very quiet system. But I'm on a goal to make it quieter than quiet....

This is what I have installed on my car:
Cobb Down Pipe
TTP resonated testpipe
Jun BL cat-back

Jun BL with V band clamp flanges!

What I'm going to do is cut the super high quality but loud Jun bl muffler off and weld in a Vibrant 3" straight flow through widebody muffler. Here is the picture of the muffler I got.

After that I want to get the Vibrant round version muffler and install that were my resonator or where the catalytic converter was. Hope full this would make it exactly as quiet as stock and as quiet as it can be when WOT.

If this does not come close to my liking, only then I will get the stock like chambered 3" inlet stainless steel muffler from stainless works.

But right now I want to see if its attainable with a non tapering straight flow through 3" system. I'm not a fan of the JDM look, so I'll be putting in a nice 4" stainless steel round ehaust tip. (with rolled tip)

Oh and I had the cobb catback, although it was about quiet enough for me, I want it even quieter than that!

O2 dump does not equal quiet. Get an internally routed 02 housing.

My recommendation for a very nice, reasonably priced, quiet, full straight 3" exhaust system:

MAP o2 elim downpipe (internal dump option) ~ $380
Megan Resonated testpipe ~ $60
Perrin catback ~ $380
