3+" intercooler piping

Are there any gains to be had by upgrading from a 2.5" intercooler pipe to a 3+" intercooler pipe? I plan on having BR port my t/b and intake manifold if that helps. My major future mods are FP Red and meth.

I was wondering the same. I've seen a few momber that have huge IC Piping and has to trim parts of the bumper to make it fit.

What if I went with a thicker intercooler core? Would that yield any benefits?

With your expectations a 3.5" Intercooler would be efficient anything over 650-700 hp a 4" would be needed.

I like numbers rather than a blanket no, but no is still correct.

Even if you had a BR 65mm ported throttle body...

65mm=2.56"

3" pipe will do nothing. You're restriction would still be 65mm or 2.5"

So I'll have to get a 75mm t/b or so to see any gains with a 3" intercooler pipe? I ask these questions because I have a 500 whp goal. I just want to see everything else I have to do to achieve my goal, beginning with the air restriction issues.
