Briefly describe your built motor experiences
Briefly describe your built motor experiences
I'll start...
1. Stock motor for 5 years.
2. Pulled stock motor and put in a second hand built motor that ended up burning oil like crazy and spun rod bearings in a couple of weeks.
3. Been on a built 2.4 for 1.5 years. Oil pump dug into front cover in first couple of weeks. Caught it somewhat early and replaced front cover and pump along with mains/rod bearings just in case. Been good so far but I add a half quart every 3-4 weeks.
It's been a tough road but 41 psi is a helluva ride and downright terrifying. That said the power was not worth the money because the money has been ridiculous considering I'm on my second tranny and 4th front diff
But the experience of learning along the way and working on the car has been great.
