HTA 35R not enough?

I have been reading old threads and I can't seem to find the information I am specifically looking for. There are so many new turbos on the market I am just wondering if anyone has any real world experience to share.

Currently I am running an HTA35r.82 and was considering going bigger for spring. I love this turbo and my car is a monster...but its easy to get used to the current power.

I want to use an example for comparison. If I switched to a Precision 37R (T67 is probably the true name) from the HTA35r I know I will make more power on the top end....but how much spool do you think I will sacrifice at low rpm's. This type of turbo, for my example, is old technology, so its interesting to compare.

Any thoughts?

With almost 600 hp and 2950 lbs, your current set sounds pretty good to me. What 1/4 mile times and trap speeds are you running?

I wish I could throw that info into this thread. My car was built early this past summer but I had a wierd electrical issue going on and didn't lock down the problem until August...so I never had time to get to the track in the fall....and now were in crappy new england winter.

In my defense my daughter was born in May so I had my hands full the past 8 months. Honestly, building the car, tuning, etc. was enough to drive the wife crazy, let a lone taking off to the track.

I know the car though. I have plenty of places I go to do safe on ramp pulls and I know the power.

what are your mods? if you haven't already, I would do a buschur head/bf272, I picked up major power and kept everything else the same.

Mellon I was actually going to pm you. I have a race head but I am currently running HKS 280 cams. I know I am leaving a little power on the table with the cam set up.

you have a killer turbo and the HTA86 would be a minor upgrade...I also went from the HKS 280 to the BF272 when I did the new bushcur shorty/head. I changed too many things at one time to tell you the gains from the cam alone, but the complete package picked up 100awhp (head/cams/shorty)
