turbos

summat has really bugged me for sometime.
excuse the drawing but imagine its a nice shearer manifold etc where alot of time and effort have gone into collector shape/angle to get the exhaust gases going in the direction we know works best.
here is my dilema . Discuss
.

if your hot side is on the left'passanger side of the car' (unless im stupid) the turbo would be rolling forward away from the motor, not towards the motor.. (obviousely depends on turbo)
and you always want to rotate your turbo as much as possible to make for the best flow..

i can imagine a nice manifold, what type of turbo we talking about? oem style, or what...

i didn't wanna name who's aftermarket turbo it is but its well used and made good numbers but i always wondered if it could have been so much better had the volute be more conventional . the volute is probably even more shallower (worse) than in the drawing.

I seen that kit ...... Yeah me thinks it would/will make more power without that crazy sharp bend. I think this was done to allow the use of stock down pipe in stock location

are you trying to compare a stock reverse rotation turbo to a standard open volute t3 style turbo? If so I see your point but the angle is not nearly as extreme as it is depicted. and pretty much its 6 one way half dozen the other except reverse rotation wheels are rare. hence why it took so long for a factory upgrade turbo.(bbk, fpgreen and red)
