Flapping sound

Hey all..I get a flapping sound when on the throttle, but only when in gear. It pretty much happens whenever I step on it, especially at WOT. Any idea what could be causing this? BOV perhaps? Turbo is boosting as normal and car seems to be running fine..it's just the annoying sound. I have an APS BOV.

Thanks in advance!
Victor

Flapping sound when on the throttle...that sounds weird...maybe try checking to see if anything is list under the car ? (i.e. splash guards in wheel wells, underbody splash guard, etc.)

I'm thinking it has something to do with your BOV or wastegate. Did you start hearing this after the BOV install? You might want to try adjusting the BOV, to see if makes the noise go away as a first step. Also, you could try having a friend free-rev while your under the hood and listen if you hear the noise.

Well, it only happens when in gear--especially at low rpms when you step on the gas pedal. In neutral and revving=no flapping sound.

I put the stock BOV on and it is still doing it..

Check for a loose intercooler hose clamp. Also check your timing belt for any looseness.
