Injen bov popping out Fixed Finally!!!!!

I made a thread like 3 or so weeks ago about the bov popping out on me while boosting with the injen kit. It also was blowing the top half of my upper ic pipe out. I had questions and got some answers but did not know if it was gonna work. ok this is what i did to make the injen kit fit a straight ended intercooler as well as the whole problem with the bov popping out.
I did order that 1.5 silcone hose from that website you gave me.

www.siliconeintakes.com.

I had to trim it alittle but not hard. I also installed my aps twin vent bov as well same time. Guess what it fixed it. i drove it around and i was able to boost it pass 10psi and no popping out. I had tbolt clamps on there waste of money for the bov. I did put tbolt clamps on the upper ic pipe at the joining section and a new longer 45 degree hose i order from TX motorsports in the UK. Had to wait 3 weeks for it but it fit both pipes perfect. I just trimmed it down to perfection. now everything is joined together suited and booted. Now i had to tighten the clamps down on the bov alot more but perfect. pic below enjoy

the new hoses

now i already trimed and clamped this hose for the bov

now i replaced the tbolt clamps with regular clamps to get the hose skinner to fit on top of the upper ic tight enough so it cant slide out

old setup with crappy hose they give you

new setup before trimming

now i trimmed it

now installed and tbolt tightened

now install the intake as usual then line everything up and tighten it down. bam install done and no more boost leaks or bov popping out due to boosting

now here is a upclose pic of the hoses installed(in this pic i had to tbolts in the bov and realized its waaaaaaaaaaaay to loose and swapped them out) this is just a very up close up

im done

whats up with the extra hose for the nipple on bov? Are you the first person to have these issues? Did you try sanding the connecting areas and spraying hairspray before assembling?

Glad you got it fixed.

The extra hose was because i replace the factory diverter with the aps. I did not trim the hose just yet because i was testing to see if it worked. now that its confirmed ill trim it later on tonight. pics were taking when i finished and drove the car. im not using hairspray. I know what it does but ill pass i dont need any of it getting in my bov or intake stream etc. the way i did it works without it. if thats how you do it and it worked for you fine but ill pass. this is the way i figured how to get the problem to stop and it did . thanks

I think he meant the length of the hose. It does seem kind of long on top of the BOV connection for the vacuum source.

I had the same problem you had with my injen kit. The hose that the kit comes with is just too short. They should have made it at least twice the length.

I have the Injen intake and also wanna upgrade my BOV (no ricer) did that lil vacuum skinny hose fix the boost flutter problem? I'm worried to upgrade my bov due to the known problems associated with it.

I have not had any problems the only problem i had was because the screw was to tight and im not running that much psi. factory 19 for now until i install my red etc. It was causing extra air to bounce back into the turbo causing that horrible surging sound. but once i loosen the screw nothing of course that was all today since i just installed the aps bov. before i had the factory diverter and still no problems

put the stock hose/shield on the vacuum wiring if it's rubbing on the radiator pipe. Heat/friction will wear away the hose.

Hairspray method is still proven, and i didn't mean for one to spray the entire pipe? You just spray the connecting areas...dries very quickly and forms a nice bond.

+1 You would probably have to use the whole can in one spot to have any issues but the issue was fixed anyway so it's all good. If the hairspray method works for the Cummins guys around here pushing 70ish psi then it will work on the evo no prob!
