Hi everyone. have some problem with my ride, evo VII. have it for almost 3 years. nothing strange happen past few years, never change anything to it besides : airfilter, exhaust and thats it. recently when i drove it, i step on the gas just to feel the boost, out of sudden the boost goes up and down when i look at the boost meter and i can felt it too.. not letting go the paddle, but the boost still shows that drop and goes up. strange.. according to the workshop guy its BOOST SOLENOID. so currently i still dont know what to do. what you guys think? did anyone had the same problem too? THANX..

 

Well if they found that is the solenoid - get a new one.

 

actually they recommend me to put a boost controller, but not to replace a new solenoid.

 

It just sounds like you have some boost "taper". If someone reputable has diagnosed it as the factory boost control solenoid, replace that.

Boost controller would also do the trick, as it takes the place of your factory boost control solenoid.
