shep transfer case ,, which stage

i'm trying to figure out what stage would be right for me.. I think the main cost of the stage 2 over stage 1 is the LSD..

Do transfers case not have LSD already in them? what would be the benefit of having a mitsubishi LSD vs the stage 1 which does not apparently.

Would the LSD only be good for something like road racing? Cornering and all that? I mainly just daily drive the car with occasional trips to the drag strip...

Just trying to justify the cost difference and figure out what would be better suited.

i have a stage 3 shep transfer case in my car. i go to the track often and i tend to keep my cars for a long time. my justification for spending that much money was i wanted a transfer case that would hold up to the abuse of some track days and daily driving. and the quaife diff having a life time guarantee is also a plus.

Ive got the stage 2 with the RS LSD. It has worked great for me. Over 50 passes last year at over 500 hp and all 10s or below and its held of perfectly.

You have a IX. It has an ACD in the T-case. The LSD's mentioned for other stages are for VIII's (no ACD). Read the Sticky on "ACD Article - Answers for everybody" You probably only need the stage one unless your ring and pinion are shot.
-- forgot to mention 2005 evo VIII's had the ACD as well.
