Question for daily driven HTA35r's
Question for daily driven HTA35r's
I've narrowed my choices down to 3 turbos for my srt4.
HTA35r
AGP Delta series turbo (pretty popular among the srt crowd)
BW s360
I already know what two of those turbo will do, but don't have much info on the hta, since not (if any) many srt guys use them.
Below is whats been done with the BW and AGP. I would like to try something different and get the same results, and the hta looks like the way to go. But I want to know how you guys like the hta on the streets.
Delta = 10.73@137.26
BW = 10.51@131
Both cars above are 5speed full interior street cars (AC, airbags, etc)

I drive it everyday... have run 10.7 at 119 because we have to brake before the finish because our crappy track has very little run off.
I wouldn't want one on a 2 litre. Too much lag at that point and lack of torque.
Dave Buschur has the title I think for running something like 9.5 or 9.4 with the HTA 35R if I am remembering that correctly.
If you are on a 2 litre and want to get in the 10's I think a Red might be the best option. Or maybe a twin scroll 35R? People are reporting massive improvements in response with a twin scroll 35R type applications.

If you go on the SRTforums my buddy vic I think his screen name is AWDThis he can tell you what it's like I know he is running a older generation 35r daily.

What are you planning on doing for tire? Daily driving a turbo that makes that much power on a FWD car isn't all that much fun. I used to have an SRT-4 and anything over 375whp on the street was a bit much for daily driving.
If you only want 600whp then yes the HTA 3586 would be over kill. Run the HTA 3582 instead, It will get you the power you need and what will feel like almost instaboost on your 2.4l

My previous srt made just under 400 (399); I ran Dunlop Direzza z1's on it, and they weren't to bad. I'm going to try the new Direzza Star Specs or Nitto NT-05 (waiting on reviews and results when released next month). I don't expect to get much traction on my 18's, but I have a set of 16x7 with MT streets radials that I run on the weekends.
Have you considered running a non-BB Precision 6262 with the billet compressor wheel? The lack of ball bearings may actually help you with traction. That, and they are a bargain at $900 IIRC

you better hope you have all the other supporting mods on your neon like fuel pressure regulator and all the fuel mods before you even think about running a 35R. My friend has a Super 60 trim and his car has no traction till 3rd gear making only about 400-420 fwhp and he has already blown his trans and shift selector 2 times, his motor and head are fully built and he still has problems and 35R is way larger then a 60 trim
alot of my friends have srt-4's...talk to boostn or mysteryskittle on srt4mation they both ran a 50 and a 60 trim...it was absurd on the street didnt hook till 70mph they both downgraded from having to much power

Fully built bottom end.
Ported head w/oversized valves
JMF Intake mani
tubular exhaust mani
1000cc injectors
Full Blown dual pump setup
Full Blown fuel rail w/returnline
AEM EMS
Rage Tek twin disc clutch, and shift forks
AGP billet shift selector
Those are the things I can think of right now, but there is more.
I loved my 50 trim on the street. Its an awesome street turbo, but won't get me into the 10's without a buttload of boost.
