Thinking about future upgrades, need help and advice

Hello everyone,

I'm planning on what future power mods I will be doing to my Evo IX. So far I have nothng special, pretty much what my wife bought for my last b-day. TB 3" exhuast w/ test pipe, k&n cone filter, MBC and a tune.

I'm in the process of getting rid of my low end coilovers and getting bilstein HD shocks and swift R springs with 24mm rear sway and center roll kit. I hope they willl REALLY out perform my current coilovers.

But the reason I'm here is about power mods. My goals are to be a tad shy of 400whp. My car is a dd, and I don't really race it. Just around town fun once in a while.

Here is what I'm thinking (yes money is a BIG issue, dam mortgage doesn't want to go away):
- Extreme porting stock exhaust mani from PPI ($130)
- Used ported o2 housing ($90)
- Kelford cams ($580)
- Springs and retainers (will I REALLY need them?)
- APR Studs ($90)
- xspower intercooler kit, yes I know, but alot of people like them ($310)
- injectors (what size)
- Walbro 255 ($75) will i need the "kit" or just the pump?
- Tune ($300)

Any comment, correction advice would be great.

Thanks

Depends what Kelfords. If you get the 264, in my opinion I wouldn't get springs/retainers. If your going for 272's which I would than for added safety I would get the springs/retainers. Who are you getting tuned by? AMS I'm guessing since I see you live in Chicago? To tell you the truth I think the AMS dyno reads kind of low I remember Chris saying that he has only seen a handfull of Evo 9's make 400hp with bolt ons and cams.

It would be 272. Won't be able to get tuned at AMS for that price. But I'm still debading on where I will go. I never had anything done by AMS (they are literly 4 miles from my house), but with these mods I might go there.

lol if money is a issue then sinking money into a EVO i would not recommend period lol. once you get that taste of power then you are gonna want more lol. Thats why i have been just collecting all my parts for one massive build.

your list of stuff is ok. you do not need the install kit with the walbro but i would say get it to make life easier so you dont get stuck when you install it. Used ported o2 housing ($90) ill pass on that you can get a Brand new ebay ported o2 for 66. i got mine last week for that one look into it. Im guessing your installing all these parts yourself to save on labor. if your gonna get your manny ported by ppi why not send off and get your intake ported along with a 65mm t/b go ahead and knock that out since you want to upgrade your injectors. what about lower intercooler pipe help your spool out some
