today while driving, i went up to about 4k rpm in second, and i hear this noise like a small ginding noise. i wasnt flooring the car, my foot was very light on the pedal, and when i gave it some wot, it didnt make the noise. is that the turbo spooling, or something else? i just got the car, its a 9 with about 21k miles

 

bro that sound to me like the bearing in the motor are worn and are going bad if they get worn down all the way the rod will shoot out of the block this problem happens do to to low of oil and driving it hard and when putting the motor togther the pistons and bearing weren't primed correctly in other words ****ty motor job i don't know if you know this but my friend was going to buy this evo he looked at it and drove it and the owner not the dealer who sold to you said it has a fully built 2 liter,upgraded transfer case,and shep trans for your knowledge.

 

Try to rev slowly from idle to 4,400 rpm's and see if it makes the grinding sound but when you do it make sure it gradually not to fast see it does it.

 

i just reved it in my driveway to 4k in nuetral, and it didnt make any noise. it only happened when i was driving.

i just drove it, and it doesnt really sound like a grinding noise, more like a shhhhhhhhhhhhhh noise coming from the vents. imma check more in the morning
