Low voltage after battery removal.
Low voltage after battery removal.
Last night I was changing out my shifter bushing and remove the battery to get to them easier. After putting everything back, all went well.
This morning, on the way to work. My battery and brake light came on. From what I have read so far, it is related to the charging system rather than the brakes. So I monitored my voltage thru my Accessport. It's should the car is running at 11.5-12v (idle and cruising), volt stay consistent even if I had all the lights, radio and heater on. Also when the car is shut off, its at 12v.
Could this be a alternator issue even when it was working fine prior the touch the battery last night or is this a battery issue?

Check your ground straps. Sounds like you may have have left a few disconnected. If that doesn't help, then it may be your alternator voltage regulator taking ****. Most auto parts stores will test your alternator and battery for free.
from recollection, there was 3 positive straps and one ground straps. I am positive that the negative term only had one on it but unsure about the positive.
where the voltage regulator located?
