AEM Map sensor & stock intake manifold question

Hey guys, I had a quick question as I have searched and haven't found a ton on this particular question. I was wondering if infact, you MUST run a Map Sensor adapter to make the AEM MAP sensor properly fit the stock intake manifold. If anyone has any first hand experience I would appreciate it .

Running the map sensor adapter just makes for a very clean install. You can put a hose bard on the end of the sensor and run a hose to it like a bunch of other shops do. To me, it looks like crap but I see it alot.

No. Every sensor I have installed Evo or not has came with a aluminum bung. Drill the proper size hole and weld the bung onto the intake manifold. I like to mount it right in the middle on the back side. That way it gets a good reading as the air increases in temp. as it travels across the manifold. Good luck.

I've never seen a bung included with any AEM MAP sensor.

huh well thats weird. Every evo i've done has came with one running AEM EMS. I also use the AEM Map Sensor on 350Z and G35's with Haltech. Those came with bungs too. Look into it, maybe it's cheaper. I don't know how much the adapter is.

I would suggest running the Buschur adaptor. Like Dave said, its clean and easy. You cant go wrong with that...isnt it only like $35?

Its how I installed mine. So simple.
