AEM Map sensor & stock intake manifold question
AEM Map sensor & stock intake manifold question
Hey guys, I had a quick question as I have searched and haven't found a ton on this particular question. I was wondering if infact, you MUST run a Map Sensor adapter to make the AEM MAP sensor properly fit the stock intake manifold. If anyone has any first hand experience I would appreciate it
.
Running the map sensor adapter just makes for a very clean install. You can put a hose bard on the end of the sensor and run a hose to it like a bunch of other shops do. To me, it looks like crap but I see it alot.
No. Every sensor I have installed Evo or not has came with a aluminum bung. Drill the proper size hole and weld the bung onto the intake manifold. I like to mount it right in the middle on the back side. That way it gets a good reading as the air increases in temp. as it travels across the manifold. Good luck.

huh well thats weird. Every evo i've done has came with one running AEM EMS. I also use the AEM Map Sensor on 350Z and G35's with Haltech. Those came with bungs too. Look into it, maybe it's cheaper. I don't know how much the adapter is.
