Damn boost issues...ugh...

So here's the story...

I decided on Wednesday since I was working from home that I would run the Wynn's 3 stage through my car.

I took my wife to work, drove the car beforehand, everything worked great. I get home and start working. I put the fuel system cleaner in my tank, removed half the upper pipe, sprayed the inside of the intake with the intake cleaner, then used the V.I.C. and let it sit for 3-4 hours inside the car. I tightened it all back up and it started back up, smoked until it burned the gunk off, then I went to meet my wife for lunch.

Immediately it felt better. I watched my light for the meth activation, everything was fine. On my way back home I noticed the meth was still on at 0 PSI when normally it activates at 6 and shuts off at 6. I tried it a few more times and the boost would go up to it's normal 29 and the meth sprayed, the AFR dropped, but it wasn't shutting off at 6 PSI. I went back home, removed the hobbs switch, it looked fine so I changed the boost reference spot to between the intake and the BOV, took it back out, same problem. I ran some new vacuum hose, talked to Andy (the guy who sells the Wynn's stuff) and he tried to help but had never heard of anything like this. Remember just hours before, everything was perfectly fine, no issues what so ever, was actually about to get a new tune on 100% meth. I test the activation by grounding the third terminal on the switch and it sprays when it's supposd to, the light comes on. I test both nozzles, they're both fine, they both spray cleanly. It was late, I let the car sit overnight.

The next day I get in, start it up, on the way to work I get on it, the meth light comes on now at 0 indicating it's spraying, then it doesn't shut off til -10 vacuum. I'm like WTF, seriously? I get on it, the light comes on at 2 PSI, car boosts to 18 and holds steady. **NOTE** I've adjusted the wastegate rod all the way down, and I have the spring on it so this is probably my wastegate pressure now** I swap my dual stage controller to low boost mode which is usually 22 PSI, it goes to 18 also so I immediately think, boost leak.

I get it back home, find a few leaks, fix them up. At this point I find a few leaks I can't fix, small ones, at both my meth nozzles where it's pushing back around the meth line, is this normal? I can't remember if I saw that last time or not. I try to adjust the activation for the meth by turning the hex screw, I crank it way way down to try to get the activation point somewhere higher, no good, does the same thing. I'm baffled at this point so I have a few questions.

Do I need new nozzle to meth line connections? How often do those little rubber o-rings in there go bad? I'm guessing they shouldn't leak air out, they don't leak meth or drip meth out, only air that pushes back.

What in the world could have happened to my boost? I was hitting 29, now 18? Are those small leaks really causing a loss of that much? Did my boost controller die?

How do you test the hobbs switch (other than what I'm doing)?

Anyone have any ideas of things to check for?

Thanks guys (and gals)!
Matt
