Restrictor question

I've been reading a lot about the clutch and restrictor and my conclusion is that when it is in it wears out the clutch a little faster than when it is not. On the other side of it, it prevents wear of the transmission. So the question is how big is the restrictor in "protecting" the transmission???

this is a good question...anyone have any answers? cause a clutch is a lot cheaper to replace than a transmission.

i dunno, i have heard from an evo tech that he has been getting a lot of TSB's about guys taking out the restrictor and blowing their transmissions.. so take what you want from that, i think the ss clutch line that has been talked about is a better way to go about it.

I second that. SS clutch line is just a small investment. Hoping to swap out mine soon.

If you drive the clutch properly it doesn't matter, you will not break the transmission. If you dump the thing at 5K then you'd be better off with the restrictor but either way if you launch like that you will pay in the end.
