Waste of money until you hit 1000hp+

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...5-exhaust.html

To add to it. Al (dynoflash) was making 1062hp with a buschur 3.5" exhaust. I see no reason for a 4" ever.

All I did was use the SEARCH button and found about 5 threads all at the top.

straight pipes? ok, so it obviously has no gains/losses. would a larger exhaust make the car sound deeper? or just louder.

Loud as hell. Once you change out the manifold for a nice equal length tubular piece (which im assuming you have) the rumble is gone.

Look into what Al (dynoflash) was running. It was a buschur and he was good up to 1062hp. Wonder if I can find some vids.

I had 4" on my 4088r civic. It was probably overkill but it sounded awesome. I built it out of aluminum with a turn down right after the rear lower control arm. The full exhaust was 8-9lbs or something. Not sure if the car would have made more or less power with a 3" or 4". I would have to say that if you are running a turbo with a 4" v-band that warrants you to running a 4" exhaust system. But most shall be fine with a 3". I have 3" on my evo with a 4094r.

Mani changes allot, I had stock mani with a 3inch exhaust all the way back and it sounded great, loved the deep tone, friend sold me a Megan header for 60.00 and put it on that night at my place, went out and drove my friend back to his place after install and such, when the Mivec hit it sounded so much like a honda rice machine, nothing against Honda at all really. But I drove back home and took it off right away and sold it for more I am installing the BR turbo kit will see what it will sound like then, on my friends car it was super loud so will see soon.
