random cylinder misfire
random cylinder misfire
so my car started throwing a code (p0300) which is random cylinder misfire. i checked the coils and everything seems to be good. the car under like medium load starts to sputter , but still hits high boost. im thinking its an injector....any ideas...?
I got this code a month or so back when it was reallyyy cold. It just cleared itself (weird).
How many miles on your car? What maintenance have you done? We need more info.
I would say check your spark plugs.

i changed the spark plugs this morning, still the same, i deleted the code and it came back within like 10 miles, it still takes boost, i checked and replace one of the coilpacks so its def. not that. i checked the cables and it has spark in every cylinder.
search the ECU flash forum, you will find more information than you ever though possible about this code!
have your rom switched to 91740015 ( I think it is) for an 03 and it should fix or decrease you getting the p0300....
P0300 is a feature on evos HAHAHA

Are you stock? If so your ECU might be a really old version from 03 and a simple reflash from Mitsu can fix it.
There's a lot of info about the P0300 code:

Your going to need a Tactrix cable (http://www.tactrix.com/), and a laptop with Ecuflash (http://www.openecu.org/index.php?title=Main_Page) to do this.
If you don't have it, I'm sure you can find someone on here in your area to help out.

but i dont know how to work all the software and all that, and now the light went off but the car cuts out...it sputters sometimes but sometimes it hits high boost and sometime it doesnt. it jumps so bad i dont even wanna drive it...
Does sound like you need a tune man maybe you should look into it?
The p0300 is a common code. It gets set when the crank sensor sees large abrupt changes in rpm. The causes can be many: feedback from the drivetrain, worn or loose parts in the transmission, the clutch, the fuel used or something with the engine. The light goes out when the ECU thinks the problem is gone.
The ECU people have discovered where the P0300 code is set and how to shut it off to make it never return.
And, I agree, you engine computer needs a tune.
