getting fp red have some questions

hey whats up guys. so i am getting an fp red ported. its coming in about 4 weeks. i am just wondering what else you think i should get. my mods: greddy intercooler, comp 280 cams, smc meth injection, greddy tbe, hks evc electronic boost controler., cone on air filter and 255 fuel pump
im thinking of doing: pistons and rods, head studs, headers, intercooler piping, wastegate, and injectors when i get the fp red.

so is there anything you think that i really need and some things that i could just totally scratch off and not waste my money on?

thanks for the help.!!!

Don't see an O2 housing on the list. Might as well get one if you are doing a turbo and exhaust manifold. Don't forget to get the turbo install hardware. At least get the 9 compressor pipe and gaskets.

ARP head studs are a must, your FP RED would have a wastegste on it, ported exhust manifold, UPICP & LICP, EPM Atmospheric 02 Dump, Ported intake manifold & TB, injectors, and a good tune. I wouldn't really worrie about Rods and Pistons yet. But they are good to have.

If he has stock block his compression would be 8.8:1

go with a wastegate actuator, emp o2 dump, ported intake manifold, minor injector upgrade, and tune of course.

How your cams are clocked with red? How much there can be overlap?
I have plans to have 1.5mm/in and 0.6mm/exh lift @TDC. My cams have quite similar profile as common 272 cams in EVO. Any measurement wich rpm backpressure > boost pressure?

1000cc injectors, bosch -044 fuel pump, compression ratio 8.9. 3" freeflow exhaust, tubular exhaust manifold, 600x300x76mm IC.

Cam clocking is the most intresting part, it is almost most important step. With pump gas certain overlap will cool down the engine and prevent detonation, but if there is backpressure overlap must be smaller. I am intrested how you guys have clocked your cams in those ~500whp setups?

I am willing to bet that most Red users in the U.S. are running their cams straightup at 0in/0ex. The Red may be the laggiest bolton turbo to date. But, it also appears to flow the most air up top. I haven't read any threads specifically related to cam settings for the Red turbo however.

EDIT: Jounji your questions regarding cam settings to be used with the Red turbo are not specific to the OP's question which if you reread it was a request for advice concerning support parts. Perhaps you should have started a separate thread.

I think he was talking about individual cylinder compression, definitely something you want to make sure is solid and even before throwing more power/boost at a motor.
