Royal Purple engine oil
Who uses Royal Purple engine oil and what are your thoughts on it? I've heard a lot of good reviews on it, so I'd like to switch over. From what I read on the site, it seems to do wonders for the engine.
i've heard its about the same as mobil1. if you want something a little better go redline or amsoil....
but that's just what i've heard...i always ran redline in my prelude, and will probably do so in my evo once i get this mineral oil out of there.

In the service manaul, they say as long as the synthetic oil has the "ILSAC GF-3" certification symbol, or if it comforms to the API classification SL or SL/CF, then it is good.

I'm not concerned with gaining power. I'm more concerned with how better it protects the engine. On Royal Purple's site (don't know how biased it is), they showed microscopic cylinder walls after different types of oils were ran in it. The Royal Purple one was considerably smoother than the rest.
well, it is good oil. I'm pretty convinced that if you run any of these, mobil one, amsoil, royal purple, or redline, your engine will be just fine. Think of all the 100,000 mile civics out there that use regular oil and 87 octane. right?
