TD05HRA-15GK2-10.5T is the turbo. Me and a frined are planning to do a swap on a USDM Evo VIII but do not want to waste our time if it ends up losing power/TQ.

Thanks.

Ah the TME 15g Ti gsr turbo!!

I think you are going to be happy with the results..... when will the swap take place? will you be able to do a before and after dyno?

Maybe this weekend or next week! You think it'll be able to hold 20psi tapering to 19psi with no problem?

And like you said, it won't be able to hold 24-25psi like the stock USDM EVO VIII turbo, right?

I should think it should manage those levels quite well .... those figures and torgue roll-offs were for the stock V/VI/TME ecu which runs less boost than the 7/8 stock ... physically i don't see why this turbo should have a problem in the US cars. The Ti turbo in my old 6 boosts to 20psi but won't hold that to the redline... as to whether this is native to the Ti turbo or was an ecu thing.. i am not sure.

Believe it or not, if you get a dyno run, i think you will be the first to document a transplant of a tme turbo into a CT9A chassis car! I have been looking all over the web for examples of this... but no hard examples yet!

I would also post this question over at the lancerregister.com site... get some more opinions. I am not a tuner by any stretch of the imagination!

DUDE... PLEASE GET A BEFORE / AFTER DYNO RUN!

You never had a boost controller to hold the boost? The Ti inconnell, being lighter than the steel one would have a lower inertia at high RPMs, so I think for that reason it would not hold high boost at high RPMs.

Well, I will do a before and after dyno on this project, but that'll probably be in about 2 weeks. I still have to dyno my car, but I guess this one really warrants it.

Thanks!!!

TME Ti Turbo Kit

Here's the set-up. I got this pic from Ebay, but the one we are getting is similar.

As far as stock boost differences, The Evo VI TME runs 38mm HG, the VII runs 39mm, and the VIII runs 40mm.

I guess 40mm HG translate to the 19.5 psi of boost. I know the VI TME Ti turbo is the biggest of all the EVO turbos, but I really want to know if it can hold up to 25psi of boost to redline with no problem.

I found this reply on the MLR from a UK guy who made the switch from gsr VI turbo to tme turbo:

"one thing i did notice when my 6 gsr turdo expired, warranders reeplaced it under warranty bit only had a TME turbo - it boosted much earlier and feel much nicer mid range, but was flat as a witches t1t at the top end - whereas the gsr turbo literally bangs off the end of the rev limmiter - the TME one has stopped puffing well before then"
Mybe it was just a regular TME EVO VI turbo, not the TME EVO VI GSR?

Just talked to Cladius. He said that it should be able to hold 20-21 psi to redline with no problems. At 24-25psi, it will hold it to around 6500RPMs. He said his is modified and is able to hold 30psi!!! I should be able to see 375 crank HP from this turbo, and I cant wait for the install and dyno it!!!

Just a correction, the GSR is the regular version of the Evolution.
