My Red is not installed yet (its just sleeping next to his little 8 brother on my work bench), in my current setup i have Comp 272 Cams.

Should I keep my current Comp 272 setup, or change them?

What cams are you Red guys using for Street/Autocross?

 

Honestly, FP's own cams compliment their turbos very well. Either the 4Rs or a 4R/5R combo would suit the red well. All out 5Rs are a bit overkill unless you're building an all-out drag car, which it sounds like you aren't.

In my opinion, a Green would better suit Auto X needs.

 

thanks for the input, for me Auto cross will be maybe once a year, maybe. I just put Auto cross for those guys that would try it sometimes.

bigger would not necessarily be better. look up big cam test that AMS did for dsm crowd. HKS 264 was clearly better autocross cam than HKS 272. in short you want cam that is going to spool your turbo the fastest. look at AMS cam test for evos and see which curve has the fastest spool.

I did cam change on evo here that was running 37r. went from stock to HKS 280. we did before and after road test. the stock cam spooled the turbo 700 rpm faster than the HKS 280s. I will let you decide which cam would work better for autocross in that cars setup.

You have to be very careful with this board. It ls based mostly around what makes most drag strip power.
