To answer your question, my clutch started slipping at 60k and I drove it for around 1k miles. I just started noticing it in 5th gear. I could have probably driven it much further without worrying about it.

My clutch was slipping from the day I got it tuned. I drove it probably 1,000 miles before getting a new clutch. My clutch went out on my way back from a freinds house detailing his Evo. I drove 30 mins in traffic only using 1st and 3rd haha. That was miserable. Now I have the ACT HDSS and prolite flywheel. Revs very fast has only slight flywheel chatter and drives close to stock. I couldn't be happier! So to answer your question yes I have had a clutch completely fail once it started slipping..

Is your exedy the 4 puck version? I had a 4 puck kevlar clutch that started slipping on me. I waited 3 weeks before putting the new one it. By the time I was ready to put the replacement in, the car was basically undrivable. I don't know what your design or material is, but if it's a 4 puck kevlar be careful. When you run out of kevlar, you totally loose your friction surface.

well hopefully i won't have to find out if it will fail. i'm getting it replaced april 6th. can't wait. i just have to drive like 500 miles on the clutch to get it to the place it's getting worked on. that was the reason for the thread. just to see if anyone had any really bad experiences to see if i could make the trip.

My stocker did this to me. I went to the track for the 2nd time with 19k miles on the car. I ran the car 3 previous times so this would be a total of 5 runs on the car and i left the track all was well drove to a buddies house left there and got on a main strecth. So probally after i left the track i maybe drove...ugh 15-20 miles at the most and it started slipping about 3 miles form home. Made it within 500ft from my house tried to take off from a stop sign and it was done. wouldnt move and stunk like a ****. it sucked but in the end. Came out with a shep trans and fidanza 4.3
