2006 Evo IX turbo lag!

I was just wondering if this problem is regular. My evo 9 is lagging like crazy, I silghty push the gas pedal and it bare goes. When I push it, the rpm goes up like 2000 rpm and then drop. Atfer that, the turbo kicks in and I get full power. But the main thing is that, I can't even drive it normaly like any other car. I will have to push the car in higher rpm to make it going. I think my car is not normal. Any ideal guys? Thanks

Can you explain a little more in detail?
It is normal the turbo kicks in around 3500rpm, but if the rpm is dropping like you describe it might be an issue

yeah but a blown turbo would lead to more lag not exactly what hes describing he makes it sound like he needs teh turbo to be fully spooled to get the car moving idk thats what it sounds like to me anyways

I believe it might be the clutch. I smell a burning smell in my bay. I was looking at other member's issue and I believe I have the same problem. Before I had the car, it was running fine but I may push it too much. This is a b/s. Thanks for the input guys.

Yes, but the real reason I think clutch is this: "When I push it, the rpm goes up like 2000 rpm and then drop. Atfer that, the turbo kicks in and I get full power."

Ok guys! I took my car in mitsubishi and they said that my clutch is slipping. There is also a ticking noise in my bay when it starts cold. They say that it is my drive belt. Cause of ticking is when it is cold, the belt are stiff and cause it to tick. I don't think it is the drive belt. I think it is the lifters, but the guys told me that the evo ix, they replace new lifter and much better then the 8. Any ideal?

What do you think I should get for my new clutch? It would be stock for now but, my plan are not to go over 350 or 400 hp! I was thinking about the HDSS with refinish stock flywheel. Inputs?

You clutch idea is a good option. That is what I am choosing when the time comes (knock on wood haha).

I am getting a ticking also, but it is when i give like 50% throttle and it ticks up to about 3krpms and then ticks when i let off the gas pedal. It also ticks when I start the car. I think that is the lifters. I'm having Mitsu. check it out Friday.

This sounds dumb, but i have to mention it. it could also be the injectors because they are noisy and tick very loud.

What did Mitsu tell u about the belts and the lifters more specifically..i don't understand what ur saying.
