Cam damage / scoring
thats not "crud" thats a lubrication issue. either way at a minimum you need to pull the head and bring it to a good shop and hae them check the line hone on the cam journals. Id have an oil pressure guage already installed for when you start it again. It could have been from an impropper install of those cams. The cam caps don't get torqued much at all and they are easy to over tighten. If memory serves me its like 14-15 ft lbs
A machine shop should be able to repair it, you can line bore cam caps to take that out, before i'd pay for that though try and find out was caused the problem, or it may just happen again, did you check and see how any of the other bearings looked? or if there was anything in you oil pan? it could've been something like a cap installed wrong like previously stated, or dirt getting embedded in there

All the caps were in the right place. It's on quite a bit of the bearings & caps so i'm still unsure of the underlying issue. Haven't had a chance to check the other bearings yet. That's the next thing i'll do. Then i'm off to the machine shop.
This could have been due to improper installation, or oil contamination. If I were you, I would dump out your oil into a clear container, or pour it through a coffee filter to try and see if any metal particles observed. If you noticed metal particles, then the next step is to take apart your engine block and inspect the damage done to your rod bearings, main bearings, etc. Good luck!
