Boost Question

Ok, so when I am cruising on the highway and I am not boosting the car is fine. But when I accelerate, I cant just give it a little, because when I try and keep it at say 6-7 pounds the car stutters really bad. Only when I really get on it like I am hauling *** does it not do this. Would getting a flash fix this? Or is this another issue all together. My mods right now are TBE, test pipe, MBC, HKS suction, HKS SSQV, and UICP.

do you have a tune? the car's ecu may not be registering ur mods without a proper tune, therefore, throwing a safety code and limiting boost as a precaution.

I know exactly what you're talking about. It does it especially bad if you have a non-recirculating bov. If you have a vent to atmosphere blow off valve, that's why. If not, try getting a fresh tune, or asking tuners.

I would def say it's your bov. I went through the same thing with my greddy rs I had. Partial throttle was almost impossible to do. I switched the greddy unit out for an APS dual vent and no more problems. The APS unit is awesome. I def recommend it if you decide to get some thing other the HKS unit you have now.

Mine was doing this too on my recirc Forge RS. Was set too tight IMO. I loosened it quite a bit and its better, but still does it a little.

Yea I figured it was either the BOV or the stock ecu. I plan on getting it tuned once I get back to the states in a couple months. Does anyone know if HKS has an adapter for the SSQV to recirculate it back to the turbo?
