Rev limiter - stocks springs on HKS 272s

what do you guys think i should set the rev limiter at if i'm using stock springs on HKS 272 cams. it's my daily driver and i only plan on redlining it once in a while and bringing it to the track once a year?? also, has anyone actually seen valve float on a 4g63 before??

That seems about right, 7500 or so. Never seen valve float, no.

Probably as many as you can put on them. I doubt you will see anything happen to them. If something did happen to them, you would probably see some catastrophic damage to your head/motor.

I've revved out BC 280 cams on stock valvetrain over 8000rpms for over 20k mi. Is it smart? No.

You would just toss a rocker. No big deal. Pop it back on and continue your drive to the post office. Its happened to me and many other 4g63'ers many times.

I have the Kelford 272s and believe Ivey set my redline around 7500. Doesnt seem like a big deal until you are over 8k...

I have a GT35R. 272 HKS's, and my rev limit is set to 8000 but my shift lights are set at 7000, so with my slow reaction time. I log my shifts in the 7200-7400 range depending on gear.

On a side note hopefully you are not on a stock turbo. If so 8000 is way out of it's range.
