cracked sensor

one of my sensors is cracked, it is the one on the head towards the fire wall, i think it is a intake cam sensor, any way could this be the reason my check engine light is on. i have the p0300 code. before it was only cracked a little bit and my cel would come on and off now it is kind of hanging there and it is on all the time. my question is does this have anything to do with the code?

definately plays a roll in cumbustion and can be cause of misfires...definately the right place to start with anything visual and go from there.
