Question Best Downpipe and Cat Combination (Evo IX)

Hi,

im looking for the best downpipe and cat for my Evo IX. I already have installed the HKS SD II Catback. Wich DP and Cat combination brings the most HP? Any experience?

thanks and greets from Germany!

Prepare to be overwhelmed with many different answers. Your best bet is to stick with something that's SS, fits within your budget, and has a good track record here on evoM. That being said, I've had great success running the Perrin DP and HFC on my IX and we've sold that combo to many customers. If you'd really like to scavenge the most HP from a HFC, I'd suggest one of the Mil.Spec units.
Viel Glück!

well we dont need any biased people, nor do we need smart remarks. any combo is perfect as long as its a 3inch exhaust all the way through

Oooh, Perrin TBE is on my wish list. How're you liking the sound? Right now I only have a greddy exhaust on my ix. Can't wait to save up the money for this full 3" system!!!

I'd assume very long. I've got 20k+ miles on mine.

the sound is great!! not loud at all off boost just like stock, but when your on boost holy $hT it loud but in a good way

i had the greddy ti and thought it was very loud on/off boost even got two ticket with that exhaust!! its because the titanium is very thin like paper

I think I'm going with a full Perrin TBE soon, with the ebay O2 housing. I'm debating between a HFC or to just take a chance and go with a test pipe. Listen to all of the sounds of different exhausts on youtube and just pick the sound you like.

I have the dc sports 3' downpipe with cat delete. I've had it ever since I bought my evo IX and 30k miles on it has not given me any problems at all. Plus it clears the cross member bars. There are some downpipes out there that don't clear it and will require some spacers or removal of the cross member bars.

Please go with a testpipe instead of a cat, but if you insist on a cat, you can't beat MAP's o2 eliminator downpipe with the Mil.Spec race high-flow race cat. MAP is a Mil.Spec dealer so they will be able to get you one, or if you want to go with a cheaper option, MAP can also use a Vibrant high-flow race cat.

You can choose ceramic coated mild steel or stainless steel, and internally-routed or external wastegate dump.
