evo 8 turbo w/10.5 hotside which wga to use?

Do I need the 9 wga since it is a 10.5 hotside or can I use the 8 wga?
Also what is the stock pressure on both 8 and 9 wga's?

should be the same and stock WGA pressure is 12 psi. it depends on the pre-loading i think they can go up to about 14 psi.

best way to test is pressurize it with a hose and gauge.

My 2005 Mr EVO8 has the 10.5 hotside stock from factory. You use the 8 WGA. The 9 doesnt fit properly

The stocker WGA is 11-12 psi and the Forge high psi one I have is 18 psi. If you are running 25 psi boost or under you wont need the high psi WGA. You really should use the GM 3 port boost solenoid to get to 22+ psi reliably as it passes more air.

Use the same VIII actuator with either the 9.8 or the 10.5 hotside on the VIII turbo. As a rule of thumb you should preload the WG about three full 360* turns when installing. This will increase spring pressure from the stock 10-12 PSI bas pressure up to about 15-17 PSI. This way the turbo will spoolup faster.

If you need help preloading the thing send me a PM. Or also if the actuator rod seems too long or anything else also PM. We are here to help you in CyberEvo space, man.
